About Me
Sometimes it takes a while to get where you want to be. After a degree in French I started a graduate training scheme at Harrods before moving into Media, working as a publicist in Television and then in Corporate Communications for a Media Group. After a break to raise a family, a serendipitous series of nudges from the universe led me to sign up for a silversmithing course in the beautiful Meon Valley. This was my lightbulb moment, and the ideas in my head had a place to land. Working In silver was meditative and all-consuming, forcing me to slow down and focus on a creative process, using tools and techniques that hadn’t changed that much over centuries.
I have spent the intervening years developing my own style, whilst learning from a number of talented jewellers along the way, and still study in London on a weekly basis at Morley College - the learning journey never ends!
I now produce my work from my small studio at home in Hampshire, drawing on the Natural world for much of my inspiration, from the wild seas that discard cuttlefish bones onto a local beach to the raw sapphires that are often incorporated into my jewellery. I never get tired of finding cuttlefish bones to use as one-off moulds or acorns in the garden to cast. My style has evolved but is still organic at its core. I make one-off pieces and small, limited collections, celebrating individuality rather than mass production. I believe jewellery should feel personal - something to be treasured, worn, and passed on.
Crafted to be treasured
I work primarily with recycled silver and gold, embracing slow craftsmanship and avoiding mass production wherever possible. Many pieces are created as one-offs or in very limited series.
Raw sapphires, rubies, and natural stones are occasionally incorporated into collections, celebrating the beauty of imperfection and the elemental qualities of the materials themselves.
Handmade in Hampshire
The natural materials of the Hampshire coastline and surrounding landscapes inspire my designs and I love to incorporate their textures in the work that I produce from my studio. My work reflects a close connection to texture, movement, and organic form.
Shells, stones, sea-worn surfaces, and natural materials often influence the character and story behind each design.
Every piece is carefully handcrafted in my studio with attention to detail, individuality, and longevity.
Ancient Techniques
Cuttlefish Casting
An ancient casting technique using moulds that have been hand-carved from cuttlefish bones. Each cuttlefish can only be used once which means that their striking, organic textures are unique to every piece.
Sandcasting
A process where molten silver is poured into moulds made from sand. Pieces can then be polished to a high shine but I prefer to leave a subtle reminder of the sand that formed them.
Lost Wax Casting
Each wax model is individually hand-carved before being professionally cast in precious metal, allowing sculptural and highly detailed designs to come to life.
